Poorly governed? Internally: they allowed themselves to be shafted by criminal hackers. Externally: government abdicated responsibility for regulation, and left it to the market.

Profits not affected? Their accounting and back-office systems were hit, not the pipeline control systems.

What's needed is a good bit of rational thinking and responsibility, to expunge the religion that "the marked knows best".

Biden didn't shut down any active pipelines - on the other hand Trump did persuade OPEC last year to reduce output with the goal of raising oil prices. Although it has increased output since then it is not back to the same level before Trump meddled.
