multiple 240v powered lights

im a total beginner and am wondering what resistance etc i need to set up 3 lights off of a single circuit. I'm looking at 125 watt 240v bulbs.

I'm trying to create hanging down lights like this: ____________ | | | | x=power supply | | | | O= light fixtures | | | | _= cabling | O O O | x

can i run a single lead along the top and splice multiple other cables into it? or should i run 3 separate cables to the top left corner and splice them together there? If so do i need some form of resistance or can you just hook 3 together without any effect on brightness etc?
