multimeter

Hey just some advice..... I purchased a DIGITECH QM-1462 from JAYCAR... for the datalogging via USB. I currently have a inttermittant current draw on a vehicle.. This meter is only capable of doing a 4000 count, which only is about 1.5hrs MAX only problem is that it AUTO POWERS OFF before it even gets to maximum count. I was wondering is there a meter out there that will datalog via pc over a long period????? or is there a way to turn the "Auto power off" feature off??????? anyhelp would be great

Don't know if this will help, but my EXTECH LCR meter allows you to turn the Auto Power Off feature off by continuing to hold the button down when powering it on. Instead of just hitting the button, you hold it down for a second or two, and the meter beeps a second time, and shows APO OFF on the LCD display. Maybe meter will do something similar? Don't know, but it's a thought...

Good luck,

Dave

There usually is on most meters, like holding a button on power-up to switch it off. Have you read the manual? Some meters have the power-up options written on the bottom of the case.

It may seem strange but i default to handheld for utility DMM. The recommendation if you are talking about small bench meters could be very different. My current handheld is a Tek DMM 155. I do not currently have a bench top, but if i were looking i would surely check Keithley.
