The company is turning over $600 million a quarter in revenue. It is not like nobody is buying their products. It is just that the vast majority of the talent left over a decade ago, so things are sloppy. [DS...forget it.] Maxim will eventually become something along the lines of another National given who they have running the show. The good news is a lot of the executives they should have been s*it canned years ago have retired. [Poor stock growth will do that to you.]
That said, there is no danger in buying established products from Maxim. Clearly somebody is buying their chips. Just beware of products from their acquisitions.
Buying companies is generally a disaster in tech, and especially in semiconductors. Organic growth is best, but organic growth requires talent at the top, something Maxim lacks. All these acquisitions look good from the outside. It is only after you swapped bodily fluids with them that you learn what you really got.
