Yes, but for some reason that is what the lighthouse people want to do (buggered if I know why though)
That is a very cluey idea, but I am not sure if lighthouses have toddler areas

Put a capacitive or pressure pad on the floor underneath to sense if they're jumping up to the plate. Alternatively, make the floor sticky to make it harder for them to jump. Just don't make it too sticky.
