Let's build an oscilloscope part 1

Many years ago a friend of mine had the idea to build an oscilloscope. As I love electronics I liked his idea, and I built 2 of them. If you want to build an oscilloscope, or just understand how an oscilloscope works then f ollow this series of articles, today I published the first articles.

Let's see what we cover:

Let's build an oscilloscope Part 1 : Oscilloscope probes.

Part 2 : Input attenuation + understand the oscilloscope specification.

Part 3 : Wideband LNA (DC-200 MHz) (minimization of S/N on a wideband ampl ifier)

Part 4 : ADC/FPGA interface

Part 5: The FPGA

Part 6: USB port

Part 7: GUI IF

Material included:

  1. Theory, SPICE simulation files (LT SPICE), Altium file, VHDL source code , GUI source code

Thank you, actually I have studied those articles and I believe are fantastic! I have learnt a lot by studying them!

However what I'm trying to do is to explain what I have learned. This was my original project :

What I'm planing to do is to explain what I have learnt, my errors and tria ls. Part 2 (the attenuation) is coming in the next few days. with : Simulation files, Altium files, PDF.
