Found a good site for printer repair information and parts:
I was getting an intermittent 'service 50' error (fuser) for the last few years on our Laserjet 4MV. We had replaced the fuser about four years ago because the paper kept sticking to the roller. Worked very well for the most part. When we got the error again, I tore into it and found that the door interlock switch was flaky. This is a Chery F85, three-pole plunger switch. One set of contacts is in series with the fuser lamp and the contacts were slightly burnt. Made it seem that the fuser was open and threw the code. Pain in the tail to get to the switch but got it out, cleaned and burnished the contacts then applied 'Deoxit' to them. Switch is obsolete but was lucky that it could be disassembled to clean the contacts. I've also seen some comments about the normally closed Klixon safety switch in series with the fuser lamp getting intermittent opens. Produces the same service 50 error.
