Johanson Dielectrics quality?

Hi:

I'm buying a modest assortment of SMT C0G and X7R caps for various projects.

Anything against Johanson Dielectrics?

They seem to be the cheapest at DigiKey.

I tend to buy Panasonic at work, or Vishay or Taiyo Yuden. Then again, I wonder if it matters.

Any thoughts?

Good day!

ts.

How tight is the money? Check eBay for SMT res/cap kits.

Hmm. Johanson used to be the absolute gold standard in RF trim caps--if you had to ask, you couldn't afford them, but sometimes you really need that kind of quality.

Maybe they've gone downmarket since, I don't know.

Cheers

Not that tight. I want quality, so I don't mind paying $0.04-0.10 per item and prefer the certainty that DigiKey offers rather than facing the risk of getting some no-name Chinese factory rejects off Ebay. But if I can get the same quality from the 4 cent DigiKey brand rather than 10 cents, I'll take the cheaper one.

We use their caps, mostly unusual stuff: 500 volt 1206's, sub-pF microwave caps, trimmer caps. I haven't heard of any problems.
