Hi all,I'm hoping someone here might be able to suggest a neat solution to aproblem. As part of a clock controller circuit I'm using a JK flipflop. Both J and K are held high and the flip flop receives a clockpulse once every minute. So Q and Q bar alternately produce 60 secondlong output pulses. I want a circuit which I can connect to Q (or Qbar) which will produce a truncated output pulse of 0.5 to 1 secondduration on the rising edge of each 60 second pulse. I'm under theimpression that a basic 555 monostable won't work because the inputpulse must be shorter than the output pulse. The only way I can thinkof truncating the pulses at the moment is to connect an op-ampdifferentiator to Q and feed its output to a 555 monostable. Surelythere must be a neater way than this? Any suggestions would be muchappreciated.Best wishes,Chris Tidy

A small series cap with pull up or down resistor ( cant remember which) to the trigger I/P of the cmos555 will do it. Why not just run the clock of the flip-flop into the circuit in that case?
