How a shockley diode works?

Mar 21, 2006 1 Replies

This is a p-n-p-n diode with 3 junctions. If i apply a positive voltage, p-n junctions are crossed by electrons but the n-p junction is more larger than equilibrium , so the diode has an high resistance. But what happens when (dv/dt)=0? If i apply the same positive voltage, how can change the extension of n-p junction?

Hi,

I am not sure what exactly you are asking. But you may refer to this page
