There seem to be many "M328" models.

Too bad i did not know about that before i bought the kit i have. Having the case makes it worthwhile. Thanks.
I broke down and bought one today, wouldn't say I need it, but it looks kinda cool and it's something to compare L's and C' to on my AADE. Also it might come with that Powerfulcell Extra Heavy Duty Battery made by Samxieng! :-) Mikek
I think it does not push inductors into saturation - or at least not as badly as the AADE. But it also has problems with inductors..seems that the the test frequency is high enough that if an inductor's series resistance is in the region (or higher than) the inductor's Xl, one gets an unreliable reading or a resistor is reported. ..at least that seems to be what is happening with the M8 i have; maybe that experience has been used to alter the software for the M328 to mitigate that. Case in point, a 3.138K 5.4H inductor reads as a pure 3.115K resistor. For reference, a 3.3K film resistor reads 3.276K on a DVM, and the M8 reads 3.315K.
I thought we had came to realize it didn't push inductors into saturation. At least I thought that. ISTR posting a voltage used when the AADE was measuring an inductor, and it was quite low. I don't feel up to searching or rechecking the output.
Also my AADE is acting up. It works fine and then when I connect a cap it starts bouncing around high picofarad numbers. 3000pf plus. I can't isolate it as temperature dependent, freeze mist, hair dryer. The 5 volt regulator is a little low, but the spec's on the chip allow much lower. One day I'll spend some time on it. Mikek
I was going to get one but...
Cheers
I've had one for years - obviously more than one year - and it's a very useful piece of kit.
Maybe we should set up a conspiracy to build more of them.
