H Bridge Driver for Single Coil, How to add protection?

Dear All,

I am designing H-Bridge Relay Circuit.

The coil resistance is 36 ohms. Inductance is 500mH measured at 100Hz,

1V pk to pk with Agilent LCR Meter.

Do I need additional snubber or TVS to protect the switches? If so how to add the protection?

Max current thru coil i = V / R = V/36

Just a diode across the coil should surfice

You could also use a Bi-directional TVS diode, those work very nicely..
