John Larkins opinions about his expertise in electronics aren't quite as ill-founded as Gnatguys opinions about his own expertise in politics, but there's a reason that John Larkin isn't enthusiastic about designing his own transformers and getting them wound, and it is that tedious process doesn't pay off for him as well as it does for people who are better at it.

Gnatguy does like his delusions. So does John Larkin. I hope that they are very happy together, sharing their comforting delusions and not bothering to try and share them with the rest of us.

I may be being a bit optimistic there. Both of them seem to feel a burning need to tell everybody else how remarkably ignorant they can be.

John Larkin has been trashing SED for the past twenty years. He does know something about electronics - though not as much as he likes to imagine - but his idiot devotion to climate change denial propaganda has made him a Gnatguy-level noise generator for as long as I can remember.

Gnatguy is more of a broad-spectrum ignoramus, but in his chosen areas John Larkin is quite as incorrigibly ignorant as Gnatguy . John Larkin is resolute at ignoring well-informed correction. He may see it as "manning up" but it does look more like a small child rejecting correction he doesn't want to hear.

"Ford eating its own to feed EVs" is the subject line you posted when you started it. It was pretty silly. There has been some thread drift since then. You did resort to importing some of your earlier misunderstandings from other threads, which can't have helped.

Gnatguy complaining about other people going off-topic does have a certain ironic charm. If he wasn't a complete idiot one could call him shameless, but he really doesn't understand his own antics well enough to be able to feel shame.

Gnatguy is prepared to concede that I have a mind. His idea that I'm adrift in a internet space does fall down on the point that there isn't any internet space to be adrift in.

Packets of data do get fed into the internet and are stored and forwarded to their destination, but they won't get in to get forwarded if they haven't got a destination address. Being "adrift" in internet space is one more of Gnatguys's meaningless concepts that sounds good to him because he doesn't know what he is talking about.
