filters

Seeking a source for small quantities of filters usable on DPM displays. We've finally found some meters that are 2 or 3 wire; i.e can read their own supply or at least share a ground. But they are BRIGHT and we need to reduce that & make them look better.

Some are blue, others greenish; it may be we want a neutral gray...

Suggested suppliers?

As you don't state your country you are presumably in the USA. I can't help you with suppliers of optical filters in your area. But, can't you just put a resistor in the supply for the light source? Save money, save power, save the planet and all that. Usually, 3 wire DPM's use one wire to power the display, one to measure whatever they measure, one as a shared ground, so reducing the drive to the display shouldn't affect the reading.

Also possibly relevant, what colour is the display?

I've used Kapton (polyimide) film to successfully calm down bright blue displays. Here's one example...

Thanks. That is a good lead but need smaller quantities.

You mean optical filters? How about some resistance in the display 'common' to reduce the current?

For cheap plastic filters try theatrical suppliers maybe. We got some stuff from "Lee Filters".
