EM Planner Simulation, Capacitors needed.

I want to view EM field of a receiver, conductor is 1/2" wide, form a loop of about 5" x 5" square. Dielectric is 1/4" thick, Bottom layer is the ground.

On one side (out of the 4 sides of the square) of the conductor loop, a small gap is opened and a capacitor bridges the gap. Signal is output from one end of this capacitor, via another capacitor:

-------------- | |-----||-----> signal | == | | --------------

-------------------Grounding (please use fixed width font to view the "graph")

The circuit simulation matches well with real device. (S-parameter, etc...)

But when it copied to EMPlanner, all capacitors and the port info are gone. And without the capacitors, the EM field is not correct. How can this be done with any EM packages? Ansoft Designer?, ADS?, How?

Thank you very much for help.

Put in the EM model of the capacitor (from device physics). Are you sure you are not trolling?

Joseph:

Thanks. Is this "Device Physics" a software like "Ansoft Designer". I can access to Ansoft Designer 2, ADS2004A, CST Microwave Studio 5. What should I do to add the EM model of the capacitor? I tried in Designer and ADS and doesn't see any such EM capacitor.

Please give me some more details.

Thank you so much.

I am sorry that i had not made myself sufficiently clear. You will have to build the models from the modeling tools within any of those particular tools. I suspect that Microwave Studio would have the best model building tools of that set, but that if you build a reasonable model in Ansoft Designer that the simulation results would be more accurate. As i stated originally you must develop the model.
