dis-assembling a transformer

Hi all, I'd like to do some experimenting with flyback converter transformer design, and I have a bunch of surplus transformers of the type used in computer switching power supplies. The problem is, they've got all those windings on them, and the core is somehow attached to the bobbin. Is there an expedient way to disassemble these things? Thanks.

Wrong. Counterexamples, myself and some friends. Of course the alcohol/pot/drugs crowd dinna much care about cool. And even they found me nerdy.
