Corona and insulation Q

He's a model student. :-)

With a faster than sound bullet (i.e. rifle), the bullet arrives first. With a sub-sonic bullet (shotgun or pistol), the sound arrives first. In theory, if you get far enough away, the sound alone should give sufficient warning to get out of the way. However, Mythbusters demonstrated that the additional reaction time required to actually move, made it impossible. Also, when you get far enough away, you can't see the muzzle flash.

What was actually timed? Obviously the start was seeing something, but when did the timer stop? Usually it's when the vehicle stops, which depends mostly on the vehicle speed.

Let's do the math. If you were moving at 10 mph (15ft/sec), and you were able to stop in 30 msec, the car would have moved only about 0.45 ft, which is highly improbable. More reasonable would be my stated 1 to 3 second braking time, which would produce a stopping distance of

15 to 45 ft.

At 10 mph, with 1.5 sec reaction time, you hit the brakes after 5ft and finally stop at 25ft.

A model T that' sat in a cow pasture for sixty years.

Says the senile dumbfuck, Terrell.

The asshole who knows even less than the LarkinTard about a lawn mower ignition system.

Why don't you outline it for us, genius?

You're an idiot. The motor impulse to fire the muscle takes longer than that to get down your leg, idiot. That is AFTER your brain receives and processes the data and sends the motor command.

In other words, you do not know, and you lie. BOTH are wrong.

timer started upon visual display, timer stopped when foot hit the brake pedal, ...not when the car stopped irrelevant.

The guy who ran the widget said that most times were on the order of

30-40mS and that I was about average?! How insulting!

Isn't the quick draw record somewhere around 28mS

I don't believe it. Nerve impulses travel at about 100 meters/sec. From brain to foot is about 2 meters, so it should take 20msec if your brain and finger respond instantly, which they do not.

Let us know how you do.

My best time was 222msec

My average time was 248msec. Looking at the list of other respondents, the best time was 111.6msec

About 230msec.

I had a fair number of premature mouse clicks in all the tests trying to anticipate the change in color.

About 200msec for reacting to a light and bursting a baloon.

However, the stuff I saw on TV had almost no human reaction time involved. The timer started when the weapon left the holster, and stoped when it heard the discharge.

It takes much longer for me to draw anything. I like to use Autocad, but I assume that there are faster drawing programs.

But! It has been said many times, some people think with their other head, which means, the synaptic nerves have a much shorter route to take!

You should write speeches for Democrats.

It's duel, not dual and you've been ankle deep in sheep s*it all your life.

=46inally having enough information to compare your machine versus the = one i was tested on lo these many years ago. Most of the class was scoring = from

300 ms to 450 ms. I was the very fast outlier, pulling 250 to 300 ms = most of the time and having repeatable "fast" responses of 150 to 180 ms.

I believe that your times are off by being 1/10 of normal.

Be careful with the faeces reference. We don't want Nymbecile creaming his jeans!

Quite frankly, I don't care what it does.

Agree. hope you saw my reply. Still don't know why off magnitude.

probably 'wishful' thinking.

Exactly.

The only thing he will be me in is a race to the grave.

Aw, isn't that cute. DimBulb and Maynard, making out.

It's bad enough that he's stupid, but he's proud to be stupid. With questions like "Is an Electret a crystal microphone", it's no wonder that he's a laughing stock.

Who cares? When the CRT goes toes up, then what? You got secret stash of CR= Ts? We've been e-wasting CRT monitors at work because there are no replacem= ent CRTs to be had. It makes no difference if the rest of the unit is good,= overall it's junk.
