The slightest bit of rain today, and the Internet starts to crawl....
OK, maybe a bit more rain than "slight", but it's still very aggrevating.
We're supposed to have 3MB up/down. Not the fastest, but I'm cheap. Hey, what can I say?
But today, I'd be suprised if it's even 3 kB.
Needless to say, I'm done with browsing for the night.....
Use dial-up as backup..at least i get 28.8K, throttled down (from a previously typical 48+K) by the phone company purposely to drive dial-up users to their DSL (which means more $$$ for them).

Things are looking up (I guess?) This morning, I ran one of those speedtest.net things...
Results come in at 2.35Mbps upload, 1.32Mpbs down. 66mS ping.
Not sure how accurate those online tests really are, but at least the Internet is faster than I can type this morning. :) Which may have more to do with my first cup of coffee than anything else.
I still have (and pay) for an AOL dial-up account I never use. I'm not even sure my recent computer upgrade has a modem?? But I know I have a USB modem somewhere...... Doubtful I'd ever go back to dial-up, unless I were truly in a bind.
