I'm guessing that they're waiting until mid-November to do the serious layoffs.

The whole Volt enterprise was a high risk venture,. What is about the word risk you don't understand. Maybe they can retrofit electric drive into the $10Billion worth of Abrams tanks, purchased by Republican pork barrel spen ding, mothballed and rotting in the Nevada desert. That'll create a market for the batteries.

Touchy, TOUCHY!
So, you LASH OUT when anyone points out Barry's failures. Perhaps you shoul d check out an ANGER MANAGEMENT class. But, hope is close at hand: the pres s won't have Barry Obama to kick around much longer.

It was a Dept of Energy grant, Obama did not micromanage the award process. The $155M is relatively small change for this government and this project. The money spent was a good faith effort to tool up for an anticipated mark et that did not materialize, there was no major theft involved, no one plan ned on having 300 employees sitting around idle, and, unlike some outrageou s fiascoes under other administrations, this has not been going on for very long.
I had a liberal yelling at me the other day that 'Four Republicans' blocked a billion dollar jobs program for returning soldiers & Veterans. The 'jobs' were all union, and government jobs. Police, firefighters, etc. Then they would need another billion + the next year, to keep them in those jobs. Interestingly, all I found were bloggers ranting, and kook publications, but nothing from the MSM that even mentioned it.
That's tells us absolutely nothing new about how Federal grant money is acq uired. Both Republican and Democrat politicians were pushing for that compa ny. So your post is just another lie.
You're another pathetically delusional and deceitful LIAR. You can go down the Heritage list and see that in most cases the administration was attempt ing to bolster the US manufacturing presence of many of these companies, to provide jobs and bolster local economies. Most of them have been in busine ss for decades and are viable. Some declare bankruptcy as part of their mov e to China manufacturing operations, some reorganize to pay back the DOE lo an. The vast majority of them have been acquired by venture capital industr y or other green energy businesses. The story is a blatant misrepresentatio n of the facts. The so-called track record of failure is more of a track re cord of survival during the worst global recession in recent history, peopl e doing what they have to do. What we need to do is look at monumental boo ndoggles like NIF. All you want you is unlimited spending for your customer base- and you will lie, claw, squirm, scream and do anything to promote yo ur selfish agenda.

Bad, bad logic.
When government collects taxes, and then spends close to 40% of GDP, everyone has an incentive to go to Washington and try to get as much of "their" money back as they can. It's just one big pot of money, so any concept of efficiency is lost. Lobbying and corruption happen because they work.
As Willie Sutton said about why he robbed banks, "because that's where the money is."

it seems to me that both sides, like most other government in the world, spend tax money on "creating" jobs where they, or their voters/lobbyist/ etc., think it's needed.
it just that one side prefers green with guns on top so no one can call them socialist, the other side not so picky
