Call Google about usenet Spam

Call Google about Usenet Spam. Tell them the problem they're letting happen is on usenet in general but look at sci.electronics.design as an example. Please add this to any group where google is the source of spam. A few hundred calls to there switchboard may arouse interest.

Never mind, they don't answer the phone. Mike

They did when I called. Maybe they are getting flooded with calls. You will get their automated voice system, but hit "0" to get the operator. Maybe set up a "daemon dialer" with a recorded message and annoy them into action. Make a direct complaint to the FBI about Google enabling pornmongers and underage sexploitation to be de-semenated on usenet.

A few thousand people picketing outside their offices, with live TV coverage would be better.

Apparently, Google's Captcha for signing up for e-mail accounts got cracked. What we you are probably seeing is the result of spammers obtaining gmail accounts.

What Google needs is some advertisers to call and tell them that they are expecting partial refunds, as not all Google users are real people viewing ads anymore.

I agree picketing would be effective, but it won't happen, But an organized phone calling plan or an email campaign might. It's much easier to set at the computer or phone and bring awareness.:-) How about March 21 for GOOGLE AWARENESS DAY. Need volunteers to search usable email addresses and phone line extensions.

Now take the ball and run with it. Please, Mike

Or may be not, I remember I used to post from my own domains account initially via google; at some point this stopped working so I had to create and use a gmail account (which just worked for me, no invites etc. were needed). And today I noticed I was posting from my non-gmail address to some groups (had not changed the subscription thing somehow), so I set all addresses to my old address - if this message makes it I'll know it works again. It is a real address which gets so much spam already I am past any fear it can begin getting any more... :-).

Spam.

In GoogleGroups, top right corner of a message pane: More options--

I select and report s.e.d. spam to Google regularly.

IMO the ability for people from all over the world to share, cooperate, and communicate via USENET is one of the greatest forces for good, ever. It'd be a shame to lose that to spammers.

Or "Use ANY other search engine till Google cleans up it's mess on Usenet!"

What would be even better would be to picket outside every Google office worldwide, on the same day.

Hey, i think you are on the right track. Now we need to build the social network to make it happen. The protester's signs could read "Google helps spammers" or something like that.
