It seemed to work reasonably well for me.
The "super bright"[1] blue ones are all based on a SiN process invented by some guy at a chemical company in Japan. The SiC ones never seemed to be bright enough.

I used the US site, not the main Japanese site. I found it mildly annoying, but not enough so to scrounge up another site, especially since I'd already gone through a few other sites and found no data at all.
I don't remember which devices I looked at, I just used the search tool to pull up devices of the specified colors and chose the first clear package in the list. Acrobat reader 5.1 had no trouble displaying the sheets, except for the usual squawk about missing Asian fonts. Most likely, most of the data came from the sheet for the 38_3X series. I didn't check the semiconductor type since I was only interested in d(Vf)/dT.
The d(Vf)/dT info came from the graph(s) a few pages into each data sheet. I used the 1 mA line for all devices and calculated d(Vf)/dT from
2 points, usually -40C and +60C as this was easiest.
Interesting! The 38_3X series I looked at doesn't display the same non-linearity in TC even though it is also InGaN.
Hear, hear! Unfortunately, "adding chrome" seems to be an industry-wide illness. This is why I'm still using Acro reader 5.1 instead of the latest version. I found that the newer versions had too many gewgaws that got in the way of the REAL function -- displaying documents.

"Noise" has a broader meaning than EE's often give it. Even in electronics, the term can refer to an undesired or unexpected signal rather than the result of random processes such as give rise to thermal noise, shot noise, etc.
By that definition, the acoustic signal may or may not be noise, according to the intent of the designer or perceiver.

I recall the acoustic output to be not noise, but rather a fair approximation of the Dirac Delta function, often referred to as the unit impulse, with time of occurrence corresponding quite well with the end of the exceedingly brief service.

My personal favorite approach to that problem is to use Acrobat Reader 7 instead. While it continues to burden my screen with all of the new "features" they graced us with in 6, they did manage to speed up the load time by (IME) tenfold.
Already happened to me with an Analog Devices datasheet.
Incidentally, there are instructions out there on how to stop Acro reader 6 loading all the irrelevant crap, which is supposed to speed up opening it.

7 is quite fast if you don't disable the 'starter app', which lurks in the background until you happen to need it.
