Mouser lists similar devices from $76CAD to $475CAD. Roughly $50USD to $300USD. Mind you these units peak out around 38gHz so maybe the extra

12gHz is worth the $1000USD price difference...

PT Barnum still rules.

Of course that isn't an SMA connector--the step in the shield thickness is too large, but too small for a 2.4 mm. It might be an old-fashioned

2.8 mm one.

Mini-circuits has a 40G 3dB attenuator for $150, which still seems high to me.

Signals that fast barely make it through coax.

High prices happen every year during the 2 week long Chinese New Year. This year, it's Feb 5 to Feb 19 (plus some travel time), on the solar Gregorian calendar. Like the Hebrew calendar, the Chinese calendar is a lunar calendar: Please adjust the dates accordingly.

There are various proposed explanations for the phenomenon. "Very High Prices on Amazon" Since Amazon gets 15% of the selling price, they're not exactly anxious to discourage the practice.

Methinks the best explanation is to create a place holder on Amazon for an item while the vendor is gone visiting the home village. There's also a potential problem with vendors that automatically adjust their asking price by what the competition is asking for the same item. If two vendor get into a programmed pricing battle, the asking price could easily ratchet up to infinity. I'm told that there's an advantage to having the highest listed price, but can't recall why that might be.

That's pricey even for Narda-Miteq. They say the packaging is bulk. Maybe there are 10 per package, they don't say, but it's almost certainly more than one. Unless the price is in rupees.
