The new Honda inverter generators have a 4-pin connector that has
+12V, TXD, RXD and GND. TXD appears to be open-drain, RXD reads ~670 ohms to ground with no internal pull-up.I am trying to reverse-engineer the interface so I can get detailed status on the generator and put it up on a wireless server.
If you, or anyone else you know, have any contact with what-ever-it-is that plugs into that port, please let me know.
I have a feeling that there's a magic byte sequence that it's listening for. I really don't want to brute-force it :-)
