Any of you been to one of these? They are having one here in Clearwater on the sensors and analog signal chain. I was wondering on how they fare.

I've been to a few over the last twenty years. They've been pretty useful, on average, and I've learned stuff that I hadn't known before.

Good. I'm attending one on Wednesday and will take good notes and, maybe a schematic I have of a project I have with an AD7150; a capacitive sensor that hasn't been released yet but they are sending out samples. It would be nice to find out if it will do what I want it to do or can get it to do. It might just fit in with their AD7147 CapTouch Programmable Controller for Capacitance Sensors demo and lab.

Protection for Access Control
I went to one in Phoenix about 18 years ago. A free lunch and lots of decent (AD) literature mad it worth my while. I learned a few new things (especially about some of their products -- obviously). Anymore, AD does a great job of keeping me up-to-date with their publications and samples program. Their support department is decent, too -- sometimes a little slow, but they always come up with the detailed answers I need.

I found them to be the fastest responding support group there ever was in electronics. Since more than 20 years. And without fiefdoms or stupid turf area rules so guys in one continent kept supporting me while I happened to be in another.
Many others in North America are pretty good as well but there I found the occasional dropping of the ball and not picking it back up. Europe, oh well, that's a whole 'nother matter. A very sad one, as is now reflected in the quarterly earnings of many companies there. If they can't make a profit in a good economy, how will they in a bad one?

We had continental breakfast too. Bagels with cream cheese, OJ and other stuff. For lunch they had various sandwiches. The ham sandwich I had was packed with ham. The cookies were awesome especially the oatmeal raison. Salad was ok, but I'm not that much on salads. All catered by Panera Bread.

The one I went to yesterday was very good. Got lots of literature on the products presented and some that weren't. Got this humongous book for free, about 2 1/4 inches thick, called Basic Linear Design. If that is the basic book, the advanced books should take up
2 6' shelves. We got to do some labs with the EVAL-AD7147EBZ Cap Touch Controller and with the ADIS16255 Programmable Low Power Gyroscope.I wrote them for some info last night about 10:40 and I had a partial reply back this morning that they had sent at 5:36 A.M. I was impressed. I started a download of their AD7147EVAL software that goes with the EVAL-AD7147-1EBZ after that and then went to bed. I didn't want to stay up until after midnight waiting for it.
