Suddenly the arrow keys on my keyboard started scrolling the entire screen, instead of moving the cursor. Only when I'm composing a message. And only in Agent. Reboot didn't help.
Did I accidentally hit some key combo that switched some mode?
HELP of course doesn't help.

"Help" in any program is almost always useless.
Scroll lock. Also ask in alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent.

Try doing the scroll lock thing in Excel. This drove my business partner crazy for several hours a few months back....

And I could almost swear there was a period when scroll lock had to be
*on* for the arrrow keys to work right.There should be some way to force the scroll lock/insert/numlock/caps lock keys.

This Micros**t keyboard right here has an "F. Lock" key, which is pretty much what you end up saying a lot when it gets hit accidentally..

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was this nice extremely compact OS that had utilities to do that as well as a lot of otherneat things. If you are old enough, you might remember DOS.
Sounds just like M$, to "lock" people into F-land.
Check; more interested in what gets spread on top of the sheet...
I run DOS on a bunch of boxes that we use to test hardware. And I have a lot of accumulated utilities I run in dos boxes under XP.
I have an ancient program called File Manager that shows all the files in a folder, lets you navigate around, browse, edit text and hex files, print, stuff like that. It makes DOS almost as good as Windows. For some things, much better.
