ADC0804 RD pin

Hi,

I am working on a project with ADC0804, I am using a ready made board on which all of the components required to operate the adc are connected. The port has a parallel port output for interfacing the adc with a PC. I noticed that the read pin (pin #2) is fixed to the ground. In the data sheet is says that a read from the adc is performed by sending a high to low transition to RD.

The adc is not working, is fixing the read pin (pin #2) to the ground the same as sending a hight-to-low pulse to this pin.

The output latches are enabled if, when and for as long as both RD and CS are low.

No; but there are example circuits in the datasheet where RD is tied to ground.
