A Non-friction bicycle lights generator (dynamo)

Nov 09, 2005 3 Replies

In this new generation bicycle light system, no battery is needed, no friction on any parts of the bicycle. The lights flash regardless speed of the bicycle and weather conditions (unlike normal dynamos!). Very bright.

It can be used as a stand-alone light system (as a normal dynamo) on your bike, or used as a back-up for your existed battery-powered lights

Sounds more like Non-Frantasy to me. ;-)

Flashing bicycle lights suck donkey dicks.

What's wrong with a hub dynamo? Plenty of power and no fricion either.

All systems take their power from somewhere. The hub dynamo, creates 'drag' (it is harder to turn the wheel), not technically 'friction', but for the cyclist the result is the same. In fact the rocker system shown on this post, also creates drag. As the bicycle rocks, the centre of mass of the unit, lags the rocking, making it slightly harder to rock the bike. The energy comes from the same place, the person riding the bicycle...
