I've been using a standard Radio Shack miniature center-tapped 1K:8 ohm audio transformer in a push-pull transistor configuration to drive a piezo element to get about 143 dB of sound. But RS has discontinued this useful little xformer and I want to replace it with something better. Does anyone know the turns ratio to step 3 volts up to about 100 volts?

Mouser still has plenty, like 42TC013, 42TL013, and 42TM013 (going smallest to largest). The middle-size is only $1.37.

Ah, it takes all day that does. You put on a third of a turn, then take
10% of it off. Then put on a third of that adn take 10% off, and keep going.Generally marked LT-something IIRC.

You don\'t. If you want it to come out exactly right you wind the
low-voltage side in multiples of three turns.
