240VAC Supply for 12 and 24 LED String

Hi,

I would like to have some circuit designs for a 240VAC Supply for driving 12 and 24 LED strings. These can be in any one of the following colours and their respective forward voltages Vf are at 20mA and 30mA current: Red 2.7V Green 3.4V Blue 3.4V White 3.4V Yellow 2.7V

Thanks in advance

LL

Simple answer - don't do it!

Buy a DC wall-wart tranformer and rig the LED's in series sections to match the voltage.

Have a look at Supertex HV8810 chip. If you don't use an isolating transformer, you must insure that there are no accessible conductors anywhere in the system....mains potentials can be lethal. Paul Mathews
