I would like to insert earbud/microphone 2.5mm plug jack end I use with my cell phone into my inspiron Dell laptop having separate speaker and microphone female 3.5mm openings so I can use earbud/microphone with yahoo messenger voice.
what is name for this connector or adapter? who sells it? and is there such a thing?
Microphone and ear bud in one connector? Never seen such a thing.
OTOH, if you're looking to plug in stereo ear buds with a 2.5mm plug into a 3.5mm jack then you want a "3.5mm stereo male to 2.5mm stereo female adapter". I bought a few of these about six months ago:

Last time I was doing some design that involved electronics I really didn't feel the need to interface my phone to my computer and chat to Mandy.
Seriously, that sort of behaviour marks you out as somebody in need of not being helped. The fact you came here to ask the question just reinforces your lack of credibility. The really bad thing is that lack of credibility probably carries over to the rest of your life and your 'support group'.
