0.22uF/50V tantalum 'T' case?

SNAFU



I've a small (really small) and dense design where I spec'ed (and somewhat checked for availability) a 0.22uF/50V T case tantalum from Vishay's 595D series, size being a major point.

Someone checked for real availability but mistook the T case reference for the A case one and gave me a full go.



Now that PCBs are launched and we want to purchase components the screw up becomes embarassing: 14 weeks, MOQ 2500p., $2400 and we need maybe



100/200 pieces.

Anyone knows where to find such beasts or some possible replacement? Oh and no, ceramics can't be used: temperature and voltage dependance, plus aging.

Even X7R?

0805 body size 100V X7R is 0.06 from distribution.

Yup, not even X7R. Those are tuning some frequency response and are manually adjusted (X7R there) but the X7R variation with age/temp/voltage won't cut the mustard for the overall cap value.

Tantalums are much better in this respect. Almost no voltage dependancy, small temperature coefficient and no aging.

Too big for you, but you can get 0.22/50V in NPO in the 1812 footprint.
