Got a dead Maxtor Fireball 3 30 gig hard drive that i need to get some data off, so i'm wondering if anyone out there has one lying around surplus to their requirements. The unit i have spins up fine, but won't detect in the BIOS, so if you have one that detects ok, but the platters etc are fubar, that would be perfect.
willing to pay a fair price for it. (what's a dead disk worth?)
i've checked ebay, & theres a couple in the UK & one in the states, but i'd prefer to get one from oz, just to avoid the postage etc..
