Some time ago there was publicity over the release of low level data for the GPU in the RPI, with an expectation that a GPU-accelerated X server would be forthcoming. The link I have in mind is though there may be others. No progress is apparent, and the "contest" reported on the Web seems to have no obvious outcome. What happened? Google tells me that the driver is being developed and there are recent (28. July) rpi images containing it.
