Sony A/V home receiver model:STR-AV1020,year: 1990 (guess),one of the back channels is not working and I found Q801=NTE382 & R802 to be defective,anyone have any common repair tips?.Thanks.

I would check the whole circuiut for cold solder/loose connections, check ESR of as many caps as possible, look for any more open resistors or bad semiconductors, be especially wary of any solder joint that appears to have overheated. Replace the defective components and best of luck. DO NOT connect your speakers until you are sure the unit is working properly with no DC on the speaker connectors or you could fry your speakers.
