Roll of copper wire

Right, now this may not be the right newsgroup for this one but i don't know what would be the right one. I have a roll of copperwire, the kind you could see on a relais or primary winding but reasonable strong. the roll is marker 015 diameter. Can i do something funny/useful... with this as it's just standing here, say it's about 2kg. Suppose it's not enough to make a strong dynamo but what about high voltage, pranks...

Build a Tesla coil?

It'd also be good for small motor and electromagnet experiments, rewinding transformers, etc. That's probably $40+ worth of wire these days.

LOL, good one that is but i really wasn't thinking of scamming someone, i think that after some research my only solution may be tesla coil. Thanks for the input :)

tesla req quite few turns to make a good high volt former. good hobby project with the kids! (it will teach them sum respect for electricity anyway!;-))

i prefer the van-de graff type that uses a belt driven electron transport, then u can get way way up in potential, millions of volts!

even high enough to do some lightning ( NOT lighting, LIGHTENING, Crak, BOOM stuff! the REAL thing!) all around your room!

also, they do a fine job of blowing the crap out of computers and electonic gadgets. really quite destructive (when used badly)

either tesla or de-graff, might make your neighbors a bit edgy though ;-))
