In my area there are a number of houses next to a tidal river. Even the most recently renovated house has not had the electrics raised. The last flood we had in 2024 was 0.1m lower in height than the unprotected, in flooding terms, inlet side of the supply company meter at one house. This is the UK with 240V supply. Would the house ELCBs/RCCDs trip out with a leak to earth on the supply side of the trip unit/s? What happens as far as resilience of the electricity suply to the wider area.? Much fizzing of boiling water at the meter presumably, electrifying of the nearby water , but would the local supply final distribution transformer trip out affecting the wider area?
