Game EEPROMS

I just came onto a box of what appear to be arcade game EEPROM chips from the early 80's...dozens of them. For instance, the one I'm looking at is marked:

"SUPER COBRA RA1 5E(36F-)

1981 STERN"

There are many more, some marked with popular arcade games from the period and others with more cryptic inscriptions. Also with this lot came what looks like a sound card from a Bally video game. I don't have any use for these. Is there a market for them? I know there are a few here who collect and service these old machines....

I'd suggest rec.games.video.arcade.collecting

I was mainly looking for a place where they would be more useful than in my trash bin...of course, if they were highly sought and valuable, I wouldn't mind.

I'm perfectly willing to retire on someone's castoffs.

Put them on ebay and find out.

Most of the ROM images are easily available, but there's some market for the chips themselves regardless of what is on them.

As a service to others, I'd archive the contents on a CD or submit the data to an online library. It might also help to know what kind of EEPROMs/EPROMs they are, eg 2708, 2716, etc.
