Well Chris, it means you will be forced to throw away all your old Semis and buy the new lead free versions. Unless they don't know you have them. I hope you haven't sent in any of those warranty cards that comes with the devices you buy, eh?

The lead hysteria was brought about by history majors who believed the Roman Empire fell due to lead poisioning of the wine.

Chris, it reminds me of the government imposed toilet laws.

I recently had to purchase one of these suckers, and the sales person carefully informed me of precisely how to defeat its water conservation features so that I would not destroy my septic tank system. The bottom line is that I have to flush it three times to accomplish the same result as the older toilet did with a single flush!

Evidently our legislators now have far too much time on their hands and must find something to do while avoiding the big issues like border security.

The water saver b.s. is such a pain. Johnny Appleseed planted apple trees; I drill out shower heads!

The family cottage has a Gould impeller pump for drawing water from the lake for kitchen and showers. Max pressure at the tank is 55 psi. Even at that pressure, almost every facuet set I tried delivered a puny trickle. It's those darned cartridges and tiny holes. They're made for city water pressure. Last summer I saw a kitchen sink on the curb. It had a good ol' neoprene-washer-type kitchen faucet set attached, and I grabbed that sucker. Lapped the seats just a tad (hard water here), installed new neoprene, and now we gots *lots* of water volume!
