Can anyone explain an undergraduate the basic difference bet. pirani and penning gauges? A pirani gauge is for low vacuum pressure sensing, however, I am trouble by the fact that the evaporator ( old edwards equipment ) has to pirani heads connected to the roughing pump. How come? Thanks./
