We have a wired Spartan-3 based sensor unit and want to make it wireless. We'd like to have a mesh network with 100-1000 nodes, 80-100m distance between nodes, 16 bytes/s rate from each node.
Anybody has experience with this size of mesh networks? How easy is to handle the RF side of communication to make sure the host machine will receive all the data? Do I have to care about repeating packets, buffering packets etc.? I guess to attach the Zigbee hw to Spartan-3 (Microblaze) should be really straight forwarded.
