You've had a long, hard campaign, and now it's over. We can go back to moaning about top posting, bad snipping, html posts and SMS abbreviations like in the good old days!

I don't think so.

so it is NOT "well defined"

I agree.

Again I agree.

Yep.

By your definition ALL C compilers are Quasi-C

You Can't rely on the ISO C standard... it's full of holes anyway.

True.

Well, that you didn't like them doesn't necessarily mean that they didn't exist. :-) In the late seventies ('78 or '79) my company bought a National Semiconductors' "Starplex" development system, and it even had a Fortran compiler for the 8080. (I still have all of that old stuff in working condition.)

Interesting. I did that too, and in '81 I extended the compiler to accept Modula-2. I still use it for nearly all of my software development.

"... to about '90" is ambiguous enough to possibly qualify, but I used an Archimedes 6301 C compiler starting in the late '80s.

Yup, they fixed it :). Good news, your lobbying efforts have paid off!

Before I had to go through all these steps to get it to quote the post I am replying too. Now I just can click on "Reply" and it will do it automatically. Of course, this sadly implies that I use Google groups myself.

Now we should try to stop them to falsify the postings (mail address mangling).

I wrote several times, to several Google addresses, that I disapprove any modification of my postings, but never got a reply.

Maybe I should take legal proceedings against them...

Why not try putting your demands in your signature and frequently ranting about it? CBFalconer is the person you need to ask :).

I needed more knowledge about the legal situation and a good English wording.
