Looking for PAL TFT DISPLAY source

Nov 20, 2003 3 Replies

Hi Im am looking for PAL TFT modules in the size around 3 to 10"

The PAL line resolution must be more then 400 Horizontal resolution min 500 points Many displays only show 234 display lines , so useless to respond in that case it does not comply this constraint.

In system B/G PAL the number of visible lines is 576, but since the broadcast standard is interlaced, which would cause quite severe flicker on CRTs, the actual usable vertical resolution is closer to

288 lines.

On system B/G scanning rates, the horizontal 500 points would correspond to 4.8 Mhz bandwidth, which is quite close to the system B/G 5 MHz B/W bandwidth.

If the intention is to display analog System B/G broadcast quality video, 500 x 300 should be more than sufficient.

You will not find what you want as a module. You'll have to look for an LCD TV 10" or larger to get your resolution.

Hi-res LCDs in small size are *all* digital drive. Of course, you could use an LCD monitor ASIC.

Will something like this do for you? It's in Europe, so convenient for you (and for myself ;-)
