I'm looking for some figures on energy consumption accessing different memory areas. In particular, I'm wondering how much more energy an access to main memory (for example external SRAM) consumes w.r.t. an access to a cache (cache hit assumed). Are there any academic papers dealing with that? Or do you know of any processor vendor manuals specifying this data?
