This is sci.electronics.basics.

We do not cast insults at newbies here - that's what the "basics" means.

Please observe the convention - if you don't like a question, ignore it, and let others do the helping.

Thanks, Rich

It'll give some negative feedback, and also reduce the input impedance, but it's mostly there for bias current.

your amp will stop working if the other end of those diodes goes to ground. or to C.

build the device and take voltage measurements at each point.

if you have one hook it up to an oscilloscope and take measurements with it running too.

No, I'm white, but you're still a flaming asshole for jumping on people in the basics newsgroup.

I didn't 'jump' on him. I actually answered his questions. It's pretty obvious he need to learn some basics if he doesn't recognise the function of components in the simplest possible transistor amplifier configuration.

Good point. Is there a newsgroup called something like "electronics.basics"?

Sheesh -

Yes, and you're in it. The little stuffed donkey has a huge chip on his shoulder, and tries to put everyone down. He gets his ass kicked quite often on the design newsgroup, so he comes here to push people around.

I think _you_ need to go learn some basic manners.

The guy took the time to make a clear diagram of what he was talking
about, was very specific about what he needed, was nice enough to
say, "please" when he asked for help and you reply with that
flippant, "I\'m ever so much smatter than you are" crap? Fuck you.

This is seb, where there are no stupid questions, but quite a few
stupid assholes; you and your ilk.

For those interested in some details of the guitar pickups, I found these sites:

and more linked in with those pages. Overall, interesting overview of things about which I knew very little of the details.

LMAO at this entire freaking post. Last time I checked there was a particular reason for the publicization of the internet.... If someones question bothers you so much, why answer it in the first place? By yapping at "kiddies" as you called them, your only showing your own unshurness about the topic of electronics. Get a life. You remind of the "I know everything" jerks at eng-tips.com, maybe you belong there??
