Preleva pochi mA dai pullup dei segnali non usati della porta RS232, li usa per caricare un condensatore interno e poi ricava il necessario per la porta RS485. Ma ho seri dubbi che possa funzionare bene, specialmente su distanze importanti e se connesso ad un laptop, le
Per stare sicuro meglio prenderne uno con alimentazione esterna.
