wiring to fine pitch SMD IC's?

For dead-bug (and not so dead-bug) construction of fine pitch SMD ICs, have a look at

It employs the 'enamel wiring pen' technique (EWP), Vero wire or the Vero Wiring Pen system. It employs 0.2mm 32 AWG polyurethane coated copper wire which is rumoured to be also used for inductors and small transformers.

This technique is not for everybody, it requires some fine soldering skills. Some people have difficulty in holding the wire down while soldering. If you are careless, wiring shorts from nicked insulation can be a problem.

I was going to correct you and say, "No, it's dead-BUG", but realized, if you're a hunter, then dead-buck could also work ;-)

Cheers! Rich

Rich Grise, but drunk

It's not so bad if you bother to get the enamel off first.

Good Luck! Rich
