The only way any converter would be that cheap, would be if it were a mass-produced item. For mass production, auto power (12V nominal, 15V max) or truck/aviation power (28V nominal) or telco power (48V nominal) are similar to your battery input.
I'd expect to pay about $150 for a pair of DC/DC converters from off-the-shelf stock, though.
