It's weird that a city, county, or even a state will cut a big company a deal, like free land or a break on taxes, to get them to move in or stay, on the theory that the jobs are worth it. Doesn't it occur to them that the same math applies to *all* businesses, big or small, existing or potential?
Doesn't the same math apply to entire countries?

For many items, once they are off-shored, the consumer pretty much figures out you might as well buy Chinese if there is no domestic source. If Home Depot makes me buy Chinese crap, I just go to Harbor Freight and cut out the middle-man. The problem I have with manufacturers that outsource is they want to charge the old made in the USA prices while selling made in China crap.
But the photo-op is so much smaller.
The difference being that people can't vote with their feet.
And God said, "I wonder how many pieces of plastic people will trade their money for before they figure out it's not real?"
