I used to work on video games, and adjusting the monitor was a dream - there were four one-turn trimpots on the neck board, with red, blue, green, and black knobs. The black one was "black background." :-)

Of course, they were WAY too expensive to use the same kind of circuit in consumer TVs.

Sigh. Some Arcade video games used vector scan monitors that wouldn't work for TV.

Politicians should only get paid if the budget is balanced, and there is enough left over to pay them.
