Screw type connector with 3-4 leads and with less than 360* twist?

A light bulb is physically held overhead in its socket and 2 electrical contacts are made.

Is there any other type of overhead connector that would physically hold the electrical item and make 3-4 110 VAC 5 Amp electrical contacts with a screw in mating and preferably with less than a 360* rotation?

google for bayonet sockets...

There are a whole series of NEMA L6 twist-lock electrical outlets. You only have to twist a few degrees. You can get them at Home Depot. The other nice thing about them is that an extension cord using those connectors makes a secure, in-line connection.

Military style circular connectors provide either a twist-on or twist-lock type connection that is extremely secure. The down side is that they are expensive. See, for example the Amphenol or Deutsch web sites.

The MS circular connectors come in a wide range of contact configurations.

I would prefer to support the cable (and whatever it powers) independently of the connector - avoids strain on the actual connections...

BC (Bayonet Clip) lamp sockets, (only 45 degrees or so of rotation required)

3 contacts if you include the shell for earth, 5A might be pushing it, the other two contacts are non-polarised.
